AliefVotes: Recapping the Spring!

View email in browser

Happy June, Alief. This is the Alief Insider, your quarterly dose of community opportunities in Southwest Houston. Learn more about AliefVotes here. We are youth-led (Alief ISD students), and our events require funding. Please donate here. It’s tax-deductible!

Summer is officially here, and we’re closing out another incredible spring semester! This month, we want to give a heartfelt shoutout to all our graduating seniors—managers and fellows—who are moving on to a new chapter in their lives. Thank you for your dedication, creativity, and commitment to empowering Alief through service.

You’ve left a lasting mark on our community, and we’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished. No matter where you go, Alief will always welcome you back with open arms.

With gratitude,

Abisola Akintola, Communications Associate

Student, Alief Early College High School

Student Spotlight 🎉

—

Every event this year tells a story of leadership, collaboration, and young people stepping up for their community. Our fellows worked hard to create meaningful experiences for Alief families, and we’re excited to spotlight the moments that defined their year.

Check out some of the fantastic events our Alief ISD students held.

Our Purpose

The purposes of the International District are to enhance the physical, social and economic well being of the community. The District is empowered to finance projects related to public safety, mobility and transportation, environmental and urban design, and business and economic development.

Our Service Plan

Projects for the first ten years will focus on mobility and transportation, environmental and urban design, public safety, and business development.

Our Projects

The International Management District is undergoing a transformation from being the western extension of Houston’s Chinatown or, as some prefer, Asiatown, to a broader American and international community ideally suited to working, shopping, dining and living. To help bring about this change, the District has several major improvement projects underway or planned to enhance mobility, attractiveness and quality of life in the community.
