Kaleidoscope of Learning Gala
On October 26th CCC held its Annual Gala Dinner at the Omni Hotel, Co-Chaired by board members Kenneth Li and Elsie Huang, accompanied by Honorary Chairs David Leebron, President of Rice University, and his wife Y. Ping Sun.
In addition, time was taken to honor distinguished guests, Mary Spangler, Chancellor of the Houston Community College System, Terry Grier, Superintendent of the Houston Independent School District, and Timothy Wang, 2012 US Olympic Table Tennis Team. The evening proved quite pleasant with musical performances by the Houston Children’s Chorus, a duet by violinist Yi Zhao and pianist Hui-Shan Chin of the Shepherd School of Music, and the majestic “Buttefly Dance” by Steffi Hu, winner of the 2012 titles Miss Chinatown USA and Miss Talent USA.
A memorial dedication was presented in honor of Joseph Lee, CCC founder and integral figure in its development. We are extremely thankful to all those involved, and are proud that there is such strong support for the work being done at CCC.
