As March Madness continues, competition is still fierce. Some teams have experienced defeat and are sadly packing their bags and heading home. The Kansas Jayhawks are one of those teams that experienced a loss in the final seconds of the big game. The team fought valiantly to come back from behind, and with less than three seconds left in the game, Dylan Darling of St. John’s took advantage of his speed to drive to the basket for a layup, resulting in their victory. With the Jayhawks winning in the final seconds and making strategic moves by fouling, I am sure some were already counting the victory, but unfortunately for my Jayhawk fans, the game was not over, and there was still some game to be played. The moral of this story is to stay focused until the buzzer sounds and the game is over!
I reminded everyone last week that we are in the final quarter of the game, but guess what, our game is not over, and we have to make every second count. Congratulations to our Elsik Boys Soccer team, who had to make every second count in a hard-fought victory Friday night against Katy Taylor. As we wrap up our school year, let’s all finish strong like our mighty Rams and battle to the final buzzer sounds and our school year ends!
As we continue toward the finish line, we also want to highlight the incredible opportunities available within Alief ISD. Our programs continue to support not only our students but also our staff and their families. In fact, our existing classroom teachers have the unique benefit of bringing their PK children to Alief at no cost—just one example of how we invest in our team and community.
The Young Women’s Leadership School application is still open, with 20 seats left in 6th grade and 20 in 7th grade! ! This is a college-preparatory opportunity that will provide additional choices for our families. Please watch this video to learn more about:
The Power of the All-Girls School
As we increase the number of choice school opportunities, our families can find more information here about what is happening in Alief ISD.
I continue to be excited about this year! I am excited to “Be all in with Alief ISD!”
