I hope last week allowed you to catch your breath and connect with family and friends. I was able to visit with family and friends and I was thankful for relationships that have lasted for more than 20 plus years now. As we kick off this week, I want to thank all who responded to our Angel Tree partnership with our local Boys and Girls Club. We have adopted the initial 40 students and now have 40 more students from our community who could benefit from adoption. Remember, the waiting list is 400 students, so whatever we can do to help here in Alief ISD is appreciated!

We have been out in our community sharing our strategic plan. Thanks to all of you who contributed with your feedback during the initial focus groups. The nearly eight months of dialogue have helped the Board, team, and me to identify areas of focus for Alief ISD. You can view the strategic plan here. We have more meetings scheduled, but thank you to those of you who have been able to come out and participate in our meetings.

Please check out Episode 4 of AMP News! This week features Mr. Frazee’s Construction class, Pet of the Week, Greek Week, Food Frenzy, a musical act with Kerr graduate An Tein Nguyen, and Weather with Dylan.

Just a reminder that early voting is taking place. I just want to remind us of our civic duty to go out and participate in our democratic process. Thank you for everything you do to support a positive and productive climate and culture and to make Alief ISD great! Remember – “We Are Alief,” and we are “Alief Proud!”
