District F:

Our office is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Beryl, which is expected to make landfall Sunday evening. Urban flooding is possible in West of Houston suburbs like Sealy and Hempstead. Our office will be at the Alief Neighborhood Center on Monday, working closely with the West Houston Assistance Ministries, Houston Tool Bank, and resiliency partners.

Residents should take the necessary precautions. Before the storm, make an emergency plan, gather emergency supplies, and prepare your family, pets, vehicle, and home.

During the storm, determine your best protection from high winds and flooding, and be ready to evacuate or stay home based on authorities’ advice.

After the storm, stay out of floodwater, use caution with electrical devices and damaged buildings, avoid power lines, and consume safe water and food.

Sign up for AlertHouston at houstonemergency.org/alerts and monitor local weather updates and road conditions via Houston TranStar. Ensure drains, ditches, and gutters are cleared and check on vulnerable neighbors. Report clogged drains and flooding to 311, and secure trash and recycling bins. Make a plan for your family at houstonoem.org.

For assistance, email us at [email protected]. If water/food distribution needs to happen in the District in response, notice will be shared via newsletter and social media. Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to land near Matagorda Bay early Monday as a Category 1 hurricane. Starting Sunday night, it will affect Houston with gusty winds and rain.
