Alief Superstars Shine at Special Olympics Basketball Competition!
The Alief Superstars showcased their skills at the Special Olympics area basketball competition at Cy Springs High School. Their hard work and dedication earned them silver medals! A huge congratulations to the team and a big shout-out to Coach Stacey Wright and Coach Lori Jaundoo for their leadership. We also extend our gratitude to Alief ISD volunteer coach Karen Orta-Mena for her support!
Soccer Playoffs Regional Finals – April 1, 2025
Show your support for the Alief Elsik High School soccer team, which will take on Seven Lakes in the regional finals tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at Crump Stadium.
And what better way to enjoy the big game than with a hot dog, chips, and a drink? Alief ISD will provide all three for free, beginning at 6 p.m., while supplies last, near the West Side of the stands.
No matter what school you attend, let’s all show our Alief pride by filling the stands to support our student athletes. And don’t forget to wear your Elsik blue!

Celebrating Alief ISD STEM Scholars at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston!
Join us in congratulating our outstanding Alief ISD STEM Scholars for their incredible performance at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston! Competing at the Fort Bend Epicenter in Rosenberg, Texas, 35 talented students showcased their innovative projects alongside over 900 students from across the Houston area. These young scientists and engineers competed in 17 divisions, presenting their work to a panel of 400 esteemed judges, including scientists, engineers, and technologists. Their dedication, creativity, and passion for STEM were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements!
Kerr HS Shines at the Tommy Tune Awards!
We are thrilled to announce that the cast and crew of Matilda the Musical have been recognized as top finalists for the prestigious Tommy Tune Awards! Competing against 66 Houston-area schools—some with production budgets reaching $120,000—our talented students stood out among the best. Kerr High School earned finalist spots in the following categories, competing in both Tier 1 (under $11,999 budget) and Tier 2 (over $12,000 budget).This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our students, directors, and production team. Congratulations to all involved—you’ve made Kerr HS proud!
Celebrating Our Hamilton Project Stars!
We are thrilled to recognize the winners of the Student Video Submission Competition! Hastings High School won first place for the Hamilton Project! All participating students will receive a Certificate of Achievement in honor of their dedication and creativity. Additionally, winning students will be awarded a special Award Certificate to recognize their outstanding work! Hasting’s performance was submitted in the video montage before and after the show, and during intermission at the performance on March 20 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.
Alief Digital Learning’s 4th Annual 2025 creAteInnovation Technology Showcase on March 28 was a huge success! Nearly 80 showcases featured 140 students and 40 teachers presenting innovative projects and engaging learning environments. With support from 30+ campuses, central departments, and community volunteers, the 100% virtual event highlights creativity, ingenuity, and collaborative work efforts.
