This weekend, our Family Engagement Team hosted our families. Our families and leaders were able to engage in learning opportunities to grow to learn how we can best work together to meet the needs of our students. Former Seahawks player Germard Reed motivated attendees, encouraging everyone to focus on our future destination and reminded everyone that we are all masterpieces. I left pumped up and ready to tackle the challenges of the world! Thanks to Mrs. Shanceler Terry and the team for organizing this event for the Alief Family! Strategic Plan
Last week, we recognized the Teacher of the Year finalists. Our teachers are the lifeblood of the district, touching every student to help them prepare for future world challenges. Our students’ ability to read, write, think, and speak is often nurtured and developed in our Alief classrooms. Their development is critical. This week, we hosted our first annual Black History Poetry Slam, and the student talent was impressive, to say the least. Two of our students from Holub Middle, coached by Yameskia Sandles won the cash prize with their poetry!
Congrats to Ms. Talesha Roberts for her work in shaping our young minds and helping our students articulate themselves so eloquently. Congrats to our TOY candidates who are shaping and molding our future leaders.
