The holidays gave me a lot of time to spend with my wife and children, and for that, I am grateful. This time to rest is essential given all the demands of our work. I hope that you all took time to catch up on hobbies and enjoy family and friends! I often share that it is hard to give from an empty pail, and our students need every one of us to have a filled bucket so that we can meet their needs. The spring semester is in front of us, and the time will come and go quicker than you know. Robert Collier says, “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” Let’s use every moment to help our students grow and be successful.
Our Portrait of an Alief ISD Graduate shares competencies that we want all of our students to leave Alief ISD having mastered. Our third competency is “Problem Solver”. Our students are in our classrooms today but will be the leaders of our world tomorrow. It is vital to equip them with the tools to lead and serve in our society. Those tools include reading and analyzing informational text or leveraging AI to gather information quickly to figure things out! The earlier and more often we challenge our students to practice these skills, the more prepared they will be to lead our world!
