The International Management District proudly sponsored this year’s Double Ten celebration marking the 113th birthday of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The awarded funds supported several events which took place within the International District, further enhancing the district’s visibility and engagement with the community.
The Double Ten organization ended their month long celebration with a gala in which the International District was promoted as a sponsor. This promotion provided the International Management District with valuable recognition and increased awareness amongst many notable guest, reinforcing the district’s role in supporting cultural appreciation and collaboration citywide.
Prominent state and federal officials, including Senator Ted Cruz, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia, Congressman Wesley Hunt, Senator John Cornyn, and Mayor John Whitmire, participated in the gala by presenting certificates and proclamations to honor the occasion. Governor Greg Abbott’s proclamation included the announcement of a new Texas Taiwan office, strengthening Texas’s ties with Taiwan.
Chairman Wea Lee’s presence at the event underscored the district’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural connections and supporting the celebration of Taiwanese heritage.
Through its sponsorship of the Double Ten celebrations, the International Management District continues to promote cultural engagement, create meaningful connections, and support Houston’s diverse, vibrant community. By participating in events throughout October, the district demonstrates its dedication to fostering unity and economic development in Houston.
