CenterPoint Update
According to the latest Centerpoint statistics, more than 870,000 customers are still without power. CenterPoint said it expects to have power restored to 80% of affected customers by the end of the day Sunday. We will share more information as it is provided.

Resource Distributions
In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, District F took action by distributing food and water in Alief. Special thanks to Alief ISD, the Houston Food Bank, West Houston Assistance Ministries, Heads Up Houston, Bethel’s Heavenly Hands, and the Church Without Walls on Eldridge.

We will hold a second distribution TOMORROW. Saturday, July 13, 2024, starting at 10 AM at the Walmart Supercenter at 9460 W Sam Houston Pkwy S. Houston, TX 77099. We need volunteers. Please arrive at 8:30 AM and register at bit.ly/districtf-volunteer.
Debris Update
The District F Team surveyed the area and captured photos and locations of debris/damage. Our partners at Career Recovery Resources and our HOT team are ready to assist with debris and fallen tree limb trimming and removal.Email us a photo and location of debris in your area at [email protected].

Federal Assistance
Go to disasterassistance.gov to apply for individual assistance. Make sure to record any damages, expenses, or receipts related to damages from Hurricane Beryl.  You must have records of your expenses to request future reimbursements for Hurricane Beryl-related damages from FEMA.

Be aware of price gouging during the hurricane. Report any suspicious price increases to the Texas Attorney General’s Office at (800) 621-0508 or file a complaint online. You can also text the Harris County Attorney’s Office at 346-354-7459, email [email protected]ov, or file a complaint online at cao.harriscountytx.gov/report-price-gouging.

Internet Providers
Verizon is waiving call/text/data usage incurred by customers living in Hurricane Beryl-impacted counties from July 8th to 17th. Read more here.

Comcast has been able to restore 60% of customers as of 11 am today and will continue to share updates here.

HISD Update
Houston ISD says it has been dramatically impacted by Hurricane Beryl. As of this morning, roughly 70 campuses are without power, 50 campuses had trees down, and 60 campuses reported some roof or structural damages

Solid Waste
Friday’s trash is on schedule, but recycling and yard waste services will be suspended for the remainder of the week and will be collected on your next regularly scheduled collection day. Storm debris will continue through the weekend. For more information visit here.

Cooling Centers
The City of Houston has opened cooling centers. Call 311 if you need transportation. Houston Public Library locations will be open on Friday, 7/12/24, and Saturday, 7/13/24 9 am-6 pm both days. Enjoy books and DVDs or visit to cool off, work, or charge your devices. HPL has free computer access, indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi, water fountains, and public restrooms.
