This weekend was action-packed and filled with opportunities for our students and families. Principal Byrd at Cummings Elementary hosted the annual Girl’s Conference, an exciting event that pulled in students from the entire district. Our young ladies had the opportunity to learn about positive thinking, confidence, designing and making clothing, and even managing friendships. Principal Byrd, your hard work in making this event possible is greatly appreciated.

Mindy Robertson, Director of Student Services, and Mari Martinez, our Early Childhood Coordinator, hosted our pre-K enrollment fair at the CTE Marshall Center. Thanks to everyone who supported our families to enroll in Alief ISD. Enrolling in Alief ISD offers numerous benefits for our young learners, and we are grateful for your support in making this possible.

Dr. Elizabeth Veloz-Powell, Deputy of Human Resources, and our Human Resources team did a phenomenal job supporting our principals with our “Red Carpet” job fair at the Career Center. I have never had more fun at a job fair. I was excited for teachers from all around the Houston area to have the opportunity to join the Alief family. Alief ISD is a special place to work and we are excited to welcome new team members to our district.
