This week I did my best imitation of an UberEats driver. We visited campuses and celebrated our principals and all that they do to help our students and teachers to be successful as part of Principal Appreciation Month. Our principals and their leadership are the key to our success. We are appreciative of all that they have done and are doing to make sure that campus and community needs are met. Check out the pictures from last week here.

Climate and culture is a focus this year, and the Alief Climate and Culture Committee has been working diligently to identify trends and needs across the district. Our teachers and staff are the foundation of our district, and we want to hear from you now versus the end of the year when it is difficult to make adjustments! The 10-question survey will be launched tomorrow and should take no longer than 5-10 minutes. Please be on the lookout for an email from Panorama with a link to the confidential survey. The survey ends November 8th.

Our second annual Breast Cancer walk is taking place this weekend at the Crump Stadium. I hope that everyone can come out to support a worthy cause as we walk to support awareness and support for breast cancer. Breast Cancer Walk Late Registration has been extended until November 1! All proceeds will be donated to The Rose Bus. #AliefGoesPinkAgain

Thank you to Ms. Li Wen Su and our Alief Foundation for this week’s golf tournament, raising more than 100K for student scholarships and teacher grants. We appreciate her leadership and our business partners helping to make great things happen for Alief ISD.

The Digital Learning team began working on monthly highlights of our libraries and librarians to celebrate the importance and purpose of that area being a literacy resource and overall staple within our schools. Please take a moment to view the second video that spotlights Horn Elementary.

As a friendly reminder, everyone is required to re-enroll for benefits during open enrollment. Even if you are not making any changes, you must log in and re-enroll. Anyone that does not re-enroll by November 10, 2023, will not have benefits beginning January 2024. We will have onsite enrollers October 30, 2023 – November 10, 2023 for those that prefer to meet with someone in person. Please refer to the attached flyer for detailed information.
