Shared below is our Alief Mission. As we all work together to meet our student needs. Our mission is vital as it helps give us a daily focus for the work we do here in Alief ISD.

“The mission of the Alief Independent School District,
in collaboration with family and community, is to provide
an exemplary education that values diversity of race,
culture, gender, learning ability, and socioeconomic
background in an environment that is equitable for all
students and free of stereotypical expectations to ensure
both a physically and mentally safe environment.”

The classroom is where we can and will see the most significant improvements in student performance. I am excited to see instructors be compensated for the growth and progress they can accomplish with our students. As we work to support student achievement and our community’s familiarity with the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) we will keep the main thing the main thing and maintain a laser focus on providing more information about the program and how our students grow and also benefit from their exemplary education here in Alief ISD.

Mrs. Flowers, a Sneed Elementary teacher, earned an exemplary designation under the TIA program. View the interview I had with her here and she shares highlights of the program and what she has learned throughout this process.

Celebrations

Alief ISD congratulates the high school students that were awarded with Academic Honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Program. These programs recognize our students’ hard work in high school and showcases their strong academic performance. Congratulations for earning this prestigious award!

Samara Karouni performed at the Opera House in Sydney, Australia, as part of a group that was selected by WorldStrides-Honors Performance. This is the same company where students audition to go to Carnegie Hall. She auditioned last summer and was accepted while she was a senior at Kerr High School. Samara graduated from high school this May and performed at the opera house on August 4th. She honed her musical skills in Alief ISD. Samara truly made Alief proud!

Efe Ehimuh is a 2023 graduate of Alief Taylor High School. She won ninth place in Exploring Support Service Careers at the National Educators Rising conference. Efe was a 4-year member of the TAFE club and is now attending college at the University of Texas at Austin.
