Dear Key Communicators,

For the sixth consecutive year, Alief ISD has been named a Houston Chronicle Top Workplace! This honor was announced in yesterday’s edition of the Chronicle. We were again listed as one of the top large companies in the greater Houston area to work. This Top Workplace designation is awarded based on yearly survey results from our employees.

This is now the sixth consecutive year that Alief ISD has been named as a Top Workplace by the Chronicle. For a school district to earn this achievement one time is exceptional, to earn it for six consecutive years is almost unheard of. This competition is open to all large companies from industry sectors like energy, finance and healthcare so it is not just Alief versus many other school districts.

While I am very proud of this honor, I realize there are many areas where we can improve as an organization. I do hope we all take a little time to celebrate the times our efforts are recognized and be grateful for the opportunity to serve in a school system (and profession) that continually seeks to improve the educational experiences for students and staff.

We are fortunate to have a School Board and community that support the types of efforts that lead to a meaningful work environment in Alief ISD. The Board and I realize that you are all overwhelmed since our world turned upside down in March 2020 and want to thank you for ensuring that Alief ISD remains a great place to work. Be sure and tell your neighbors and friends and all those on your social media channels that Alief has once again been honored as a Top Workplace.
