As part of its mission, the Alief Super Neighborhood Council is supporting The Empty Shelter Project. The Empty Shelter Project was created to serve underserved areas, such as Alief, by offering free spay and neuter clinics. It’s no secret that Houston is home to one of our country’s largest animal overpopulation problems. What’s worse, it doesn’t just affect the pitiful cats and dogs being left to fend for themselves on the streets. Tax payers are affected when Harris County and the City of Houston pay to feed, house, and ultimately (tragically) euthanize these animals.
