BEWARE OF SCAMS: There is a rumor circulating that FEMA is giving Texans $800 in food vouchers. This is false. They not providing vouchers but they are accepting applications for assistance.

Over the past few days, in response to the water and food crisis stemming from the recent winter storm, our office and other elected officials, as well as non-profits and community leaders, stepped up to provide food and water supplies to our community.

We would like to send a big THANK  YOU to Mayor Turner, Sewa International, West Houston Assistance Ministries, Pastors Hernan and Wendy Castano, Iglesia Rios De Aceite, Pastor Johnny Teague and the Church at the Cross, HISD, Heads Up Houston, Los Tacos, Sima Ladjevardian, Alice Lee, AJ McQueen, HPD, Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth, Texas House Representative Gene Wu, Council Member David Robinson, Harris County Commissioner Tom Ramsey, HISD Trustees Holly Vilaseca and Anne Sung, and all of the INCREDIBLE volunteers who made this possible!
