Council Member Thomas Thanks Partners and Volunteers for Community Clean-Up

HOUSTON — Following a great show of support from partners and community members for the District F office’s Community Clean-Up event on Saturday, Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas has released the following statement:

“This was a sight to behold.  Together with our partners and volunteers from the community, we cleaned and mowed nearly 100,000 square feet of an easement on Spring Grove Dr over the course of a single morning.  I would like to send a sincere thank you to Keep Houston Beautiful, Houston ToolBank, Alief Super Neighborhood Council, Heads Up Houston, Rho Theta and Theta Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, Vice Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex Tatum, the E. L. Kingsley Foundation, Precision Works Lawn Services, my staff, and the 56 volunteers (young and old) who saved us over $4,000 in taxpayer funds by donating their time.”

“My hope is that this inspires others to keep our district clean and well-maintained. We will have more clean-ups in the near future and we would love for more volunteers to join us.  Don’t let District F go to waste.”
