Houston Public Library temporarily suspends service to implement COVID-19 procedures.
The Houston Public Library values the health and safety of our staff and customers as a top priority. We are actively monitoring guidance from the Houston Health Department, as well as local, state and federal authorities to do our part to support the health of the entire community.
This is a time of rapidly changing conditions regarding COVID-19, and in our efforts to help prevent the spread of this disease in our region, the Houston Public Library has suspended service at all locations until further notice. This suspension also includes all public programs and events.
Please remember that the Houston Public Library’s many free online resources and digital services are always available 24/7 with your MY Link Library Card at www.houstonlibrary.org, including e-books and e-audiobooks, streaming TV, movie and music services, online classes and tutoring, and databases.
Updated information regarding the immediate future of library services, programs, due dates, fines and late fees, and more will be communicated within the next 48 hours.
We encourage you to visit the City of Houston’s Emergency Operations Center website at https://houstonemergency.org/covid19 or call 832.393.4220 for more information meant to slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the number of people infected.
