2019 Top Workplaces in Houston

I trust you had a great weekend and enjoyed the nice weather we had. Saturday morning was a great day in Alief as we celebrated Alief Proud Day. Attendance was extremely high and our student performances continue to be more impressive each year. The Alief Idol finalists performed and competed for cash prizes and a professional recording session. It was a great Alief Proud Day.

I would also like to share some additional great news about our school district. Once again, Alief ISD has been named a Houston Chronicle Top Workplace! This honor was announced in Sunday’s edition of the Chronicle. We were listed as one of the top large companies in the greater Houston area to work. The Top Workplace designation is awarded based on yearly survey results from our employees.

You may find it interesting that this competition is open to all large companies from industry sectors like energy, finance and healthcare. School districts are included with these industries so it is not just an award for school districts.

It is an honor that this is the fourth consecutive year that Alief ISD has been named as a Top Workplace by the Chronicle. For a school district to earn this achievement one time is exceptional, to earn it for four consecutive years is very rare. While I realize there are many areas we can improve in as an organization, I do hope we all take a little time to celebrate the times our efforts are recognized and be grateful for the opportunity to serve in a school system (and profession) that continually seeks to improve the education experiences for students and staff.

I am very proud of this honor and I hope you are as well. We are fortunate to have a School Board and community that support the types of efforts that lead to a meaningful work environment in Alief ISD. Be sure and tell your neighbors and friends that Alief has once again been honored as a Top Workplace.
