The beginning of the 2014-15 school year starts a new era for public education students in Texas. Incoming freshmen will now begin their journey toward college and career readiness by pursuing their chosen endorsement path throughout their high school years. This is all made possible through the House Bill 5 Legislation that was passed and signed into law in 2013.
Students will now experience graduation plan flexibility that allows them to take meaningful courses within the various content areas that are aligned with their interests whether they are pursuing post-secondary education such as technical school or a two-year or four-year college or whether they are preparing to enter the workforce. No longer will students be limited by the “one size fits all” approach that relied on the assumption that every student will and must attend a four-year university
