Superintendent Dr. Anthony Mays’ Week Ahead – November 3, 2025

Dr. Mays

Did you vote early? If not, tomorrow is the big day! If you were unable to vote early, please take advantage of the day off tomorrow to cast your ballot! Our Alief Central Administration Building, located at 4250 Cook Road, is one of the district’s many voting sites. You can learn more about other available voting sites here.

If you missed this weekend’s Alief Proud program, you missed a treat! Our student performances were exceptional. As we launch our fine arts opportunities, it was exciting to see our dancers from Albright Visual and Performing Arts Academy and the Miller Intermediate Visual and Performing Arts Academy perform! The energy and excitement of our students and parents were undeniable! You can check out more photos from Alief Proud here! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our campuses and our students!

The Young Women’s Leadership Schoolapplication opens November 15th! This is a college-preparatory opportunity that will provide additional choices for our families. As we increase the number of choice school opportunities, our families can find more information here about what is happening in Alief ISD.

I am excited about this year! I am excited to “Be all in with Alief ISD!”

Alief ISD MVP 2025-2026 Awards Nomination Form

We encourage our stakeholders to submit the MVP Award Submission.

Teacher Mini-Grant Application Opens November 3rd, 2025

The Alief ISD Education Foundation Innovative Grant Program is designed to spark creativity and enhance the learning experience in classrooms across the district. Rather than focusing on standardized test performance, this program empowers educators to bring fresh, engaging, and imaginative ideas to life.

Each year, the Foundation awards grants to educators who develop innovative classroom projects that inspire students, foster curiosity, and encourage critical thinking. Successful proposals feature well-designed implementation plans and creative approaches that make learning both meaningful and memorable.

By supporting innovation, the Foundation helps teachers turn great ideas into powerful educational opportunities — ensuring that Alief students are prepared to dream big and achieve even more.

Our Purpose

The purposes of the International District are to enhance the physical, social and economic well being of the community. The District is empowered to finance projects related to public safety, mobility and transportation, environmental and urban design, and business and economic development.

Our Service Plan

Projects for the first ten years will focus on mobility and transportation, environmental and urban design, public safety, and business development.

Our Projects

The International Management District is undergoing a transformation from being the western extension of Houston’s Chinatown or, as some prefer, Asiatown, to a broader American and international community ideally suited to working, shopping, dining and living. To help bring about this change, the District has several major improvement projects underway or planned to enhance mobility, attractiveness and quality of life in the community.
