                                 IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Updated Trash Collection Schedule:
In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, January 20, 2025, collection services will be adjusted.

Due to increased participation in the residential curbside heavy trash program, services are currently behind schedule. To assist the department’s efforts to return to the regular schedule, curbside tree waste and yard waste collections have been temporarily paused for the remainder of January. We appreciate your patience as we work to complete services.

Monday, January 20, 2025 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day): All Solid Waste facilities, including collection services, Neighborhood Depositories/Recycling Centers, Westpark Recycling Center, and offices will be closed.

Tuesday, January 21, 2025: Monday’s curbside garbage and recycling will be collected. All Solid Waste facilities will re-open. Note: Services may start later in the day due to projected winter weather impacts.

Wednesday, January 22, 2025: Tuesday’s curbside garbage and recycling will be collected.

Thursday, January 23, 2025: Normal collection services will resume.

For more information, visit houstonsolidwaste.org.

Alief ISD will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Temporary Suspension of Flight Operations:
Due to the extremely hazardous road conditions expected throughout Houston, flight operations at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), and Ellington Airport (EFD) will be temporarily suspended starting at 12 AM on Tuesday, January 21. This measure prioritizes the safety of passengers and staff.

Please share this information with your neighbors and community members.

Stay safe, stay informed, and stay warm,
