Our deepest condolences go out to the family of District F resident Monica Roberts, a trail-blazing LGBTQ rights activist and journalist who passed away on October 5th.  Remembered as a gifted storyteller, she utilized her blog, TransGriot, to recount experiences of the transgender community.  An advocate through and through, she became known as a preeminent source for media outlets on the issue of violence against transgender individuals.  Her life’s work will live on through the progress of equality in this country.
