The Thomas Telegraph Vol. 6, Issue 8 – May 3, 2024
Dear Friends:

The 2nd Annual Deed Restriction Workshop, held on Saturday, April 27th, was a huge success. Thank you to our partners for working with us to provide the best information to protect and modernize your neighborhood. As promised, the slides are available for use.

As we approach the summer, my office will release our annual Summer of Safety initiative, including installing streetlights in our neighborhoods. So far, my office has received submissions primarily from the Park Glen subdivision (thank you, Ms. Lynn).

For those of you in Tanglewilde, Briar Meadow, Westchase, and subdivisions in Alief, please take a moment to survey your neighborhood and the intersections and submit your request here. This process takes 10-12 weeks, so the sooner the better.

Join me in sharing my condolences to the Donatto Family. James Donatto II passed away on Wednesday, May 1st. He was a personal friend, son, brother, and entrepreneur and active in local politics; he supported District F’s efforts whenever called upon. May he rest in peace and comfort.

I hope to see you all on tomorrow for the inaugural Tour de West on Saturday, May 4, at 10 AM at the Alief ISD Marshall Center for Careers. Watch the digital Thomas Telegraph for a full recap of what’s happening in the District.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Cinco de Mayo!

IN THE NEWS
Deed restrictions are recorded agreements that limit how an individual piece of land may be used by its owners. In their simplest form, deed restrictions are exactly what they sound like: legally binding restrictions the landowner must abide by. When implemented well, deed restrictions are invaluable tools used to protect home values in residential neighborhoods and to restrict unwelcome businesses from moving into areas where they are not wanted.
